William's Review

For those looking for a good fishing reel for a reasonable price, the Piscifun Alloy X is a good option. With its many features, this reel is a good choice for novice and experienced anglers alike.

First of all, this reel seems to be very well built. It is constructed out of high-quality materials which should help it to last for a long time. The drag system is impressive, providing smooth and consistent drag throughout the range.

Secondly, the reel is pretty versatile. It can be used for a variety of different fishing techniques, from typical cast and retrieve, deep diving crankbaits and more. I’ve even used it for flippin’ a jig, which it worked surprisingly well.

Third, the reel is very affordable. While there are cheaper reels out there, I don’t think I’ve seen one that includes as much as the Alloy X does.

Fourth, the reel is very easy to use. The drag system is easy to adjust, the bail arms works well, and I haven’t had any problems with making nice long casts.

Overall, the Piscifun Alloy X spinning reel has been an excellent purchase for me. So far it’s been a reliable, versatile, and affordable reel.

Features

The Alloy X is one of Piscifun’s newer spinning reels. Released in 2021, it is a saltwater grade, fully sealed reel that is built for durability and performance.

The reel features a solid aluminum body, 11+1 ball bearings, and a drag system that is rated from 26 to up to 39 pounds, depending on the model size you get. It has a pretty good line capacity whether you’re spooling up mono or braid. While it doesn’t hold as much as some of the reels with oversized spools, like the Daiwa BG, it does hold a respectable amount of fishing line that should work for most fishing situations.

The Alloy X has a sleek and stylish design. The reel is constructed out of a machined aluminum body and a smooth, anodized finish. The contoured handle is comfortable and the large knobs provide easy and precise control.

This Piscifun spinner is equipped with an impressive drag system. The Alloy X features a multi layered carbon fiber drag system which is rated at up to 26 lbs of drag pressure on the 2000 size. This is more than enough to handle even the biggest bass.

The reel features an 11+1 bearings system. 10 bearings are dedicated to the spool providing a smooth operation, with 1 bearing for the anti-reverse system.

The Piscifun Alloy X is available in five different sizes, 2000-6000, to accommodate a wide range of fishing applications. The size 2000 is perfect for fresh water fishing, while the larger sizes are better suited for inshore fishing.

The Piscifun Alloy X is an impressive reel that is sure to please even the most demanding anglers. It is packed with features, performs well, and is available at an unbeatable price.

Solid One-Piece CNC-Machined Aluminum Body

“CNC-Machined” means the reel is flawlessly constructed by a computerized numerical control manufacturing process. The exact dimensions are programmed into a CAD software which directs the movement of the production machinery.

Each reel is made with precise measurements to ensure consistent quality. Aluminum is anti-corrosive and strong, yet light-weight, which means your hand and wrist won’t get tired from fishing all day long.

Carbon Fiber Drag System That Won’t Let Your Prize Get Away

This has a high max drag that can handle even the biggest catch. The drag on the reel is a system of washers that controls tension on the line.

When you hook your trophy fish and the fish drags the line, the washers tighten around the line and slow down the fish. This creates a lot of friction on the washers and also creates a good amount of heat, which can wear out cheap washers made from composites.

However, the high-quality carbon fiber washers in this reel are durable and can handle the max drag power, so your trophy catch won’t away.

Large and Durable Internal Alloy Gear System

The gear system in the reel is the key to how strong your reel is and how smoothly it operates. This is important when you are wrestling with your prized catch, and you want to win the battle.

A large gear system made from high grade alloys gives you optimal strength and reliable performance that won’t disappoint you when you land the big one.

Awesome 11+1 Bearing System

The bearings keep the various gears, spools, and knobs spinning smoothly while you’re fishing. The more bearings a reel has, the better and smoother the performance.

This reel has an amazing 11+1 bearings system usually found on more expensive reels. Cheaper reels typically only have half that many.

Convenient Braid-Ready CNC-Machined Aluminum Spool

When you’re out in your perfect fishing spot and sense your prized fish just taunting you out there, you want to get your braid on your fishing rod as quickly as possible. This spool is braid-ready, so you don’t have to spend time adding an additional backing to your spool in order to secure your braid.

The spool is machined with computerized precision for a flawless construction. Just get the braid on, and you’re ready to go.

Waterproof Design In A Completely Sealed Reel System

Don’t worry about dropping your rod in the water or fishing out in the rain because the gears inside the reel are protected by a strong, sealed system that does not allow water to get in. Even if you’re able to keep the reel out of water, the sealed design will keep your gears free of debris and dust which will keep it operating smoothly under any type of conditions.

High density EVA Knob on Aluminum Handle For Maximum Comfort

When you plan to fish all day long, you want a comfortable grip on the reel’s handle. The high density EVA foam is lightweight and very comfortable when you grip on it.

Don’t worry about your hand slipping when you are fighting with the stubborn fish because the EVA foam will give you a firm grip.

One-Piece Bail Design Reduces Line Friction

The bail is the trigger you control when you cast or reel in your line. The bail also prevents your line from going in all sorts of directions when it goes off and on the spool. The seamless, one-piece bail design reduces friction on the line and keeps it from tangling.

Convenient Removable Back Cover For Greasing

The gears in the reel need lubricating to keep them functioning smoothly. You can easily do this by removing the back cover on the reel.

John's Thoughts on the Alloy X

I’ve been using Piscifun’s new Alloy X reel for the past 8 months. Here are my thoughts on it.

First, let me say that I really like this reel. It’s well-made, has a great drag system, and is very smooth. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s a bit on the heavy side.

The Alloy X is made of aluminum, so it’s not as light as Piscifun’s other fishing reel, the Carbon X. But, it’s still a very good reel.

The drag system on the Alloy X is amazing. It’s very smooth and can handle a lot of pressure. I’ve been using it for throwing heavy lures and it’s performed flawlessly.

The gears are also very smooth. I’ve never had any issues with them.

I think the Piscifun Alloy X is a great reel. It’s well-made, has a great drag system, and is very smooth. And since I’m on kind of a tight budget, the lower price is worth the small weight increase.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Extremely affordable price for a sealed reel
  • Lightweight and durable
  • High max drag rating
  • Excellent line capacity
  • Great for inshore striped bass fishing

Cons:

  • Cap on handle looks cheap
  • Some users have reported that the reel is difficult to adjust

Paul's Experience

I’m really digging Piscifun’s new spinning reel. It’s called the Alloy X, and it’s got a lot of features that I really like.

While I normally use a Shimano Curado K baitcasting reel, I wanted a spinning reel for one of my rigs. While it’s a bit heavier than my Curado K setup, it’s not bad. It weighs above 8 ounces, which from what I’ve seen, actually isn’t that bad for a spinning reel.

It’s got a really smooth drag system that can put out up to 26 pounds of drag which is way more than my Curado K is able to handle. And it’s got a really nice, smooth retrieve and the 5.5:1 gear ratio is exactly what I wanted for throwing some oversized swimbaits.

So far, I’ve only had a chance to use this reel a few times, but I’m really impressed. It’s got a really solid feel to it, and feels well-made. I like how smooth and easy the drag system is to use. I’ve been using it with braided line, and it’s been working just fine.
